Our Events Venue - L'Entrepot

What's L'Entrepot?

The Space

Opened in 2010, the open, light-filled space maintains a sophisticated-yet-friendly vibe. With an open 1600 square foot floor plan, 30 foot vaulted ceilings, white brick walls, large translucent sliding doors and variable lighting, L'Entrepot’s elegant yet casual warehouse setting adapts to nearly any type of gathering, exemplified by the diverse list of events which have taken place there over the past years, including non-profit benefits, art exhibits, promotional events, film screenings, live theater, small ensemble to mid-size chamber music performances, wedding receptions, flea markets, classes, seminars, and the list goes on …

The Name

For hundreds of years, everything came through the “entrepot.” A centralized trading post, the entrepot allowed long-haul merchants to trade their cargo without paying duties. While crates of spices, textiles, and exotic foods changed hands and were readied for their next voyage, another kind of trade was taking place, as the merchants shared ideas, languages, and stories from the world over.

Today, L'Entrepot strives to foster the same spirit of exchange. With a space designed for creativity and comfort, L'Entrepot encourages visitors to make themselves at home, move about the space, and enjoy serendipitous moments of connection.

Food & Beverage Catering

Carmo also offers extensive vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free menus and can cater events of all sizes. Sample catering menus can be found here.

L'Entrepot is located in the same building as Carmo, situated in New Orleans’s Arts District, just steps from the Central Business District, the Warehouse District, and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. It is easily accessible by both of New Orleans’s streetcar lines and is in walking distance of the city’s French Quarter and most major hotels.
