Welcome to Carmo!
Carmo is a tropical café built upon the rich, multi-cultural culinary influences found throughout the Caribbean, Central and South America, Gulf South and beyond. The menu features eclectic and traditional/traditionally-inspired dishes with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients.
Exotic Fruits
Carmo features exotic tropical fruits which have been previously unavailable in the area including caja, caju, cacau, cupuaçu, graviola (sour sop) and more. Each one has distinct and amazing nutritional properties. Stop by for a juice or cocktail and discover your new favorite! Get details on each fruit.
You Are What You Eat
Carmo uses the freshest local ingredients, including organic produce and products from suppliers and farmers markets. At the end of the day, does it really make a difference? We have no doubt it does.
Chocolate Fruit?
Juice of the Cocoa Fruit (Cacau) is one of those wonders of nature that has somehow escaped popular knowledge. In fact, Carmo is the only establishment we've encountered actually serving it as juice. Find out what makes it so nutritious and special.
Dende
"Dende" (red palm) oil contains by far, more nutrients than any other dietary oil. In addition to beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, and lycopene it contains at least 20 other carotenes along with vitamin E, vitamin K, CoQ10, squalene, phytos...terols, flavonoids, phenolic acids, and glycolipids.
